I’ve been writing since I was about 11 – a little over 12 years now. I started performing in the Fall of 2005 when I wrote “The Virgin,” a sultry piece about one woman’s struggles to remain a virgin while in a committed relationship. After that, performance became something that I wanted to heavily pursue. I performed at open mics, events, slams, etc. and perfected my craft. In the Spring of 2009, I decided that it was about time to change up my style a bit and “Intimidated” was born – a poem about my experiences as a plus-sized woman.

I hope that my style is respected as unique. Respected as the gift from God that it is and if you hear, truly hear, what I’m saying versus the way that it’s delivered, then I’ve done my job.
